Joakim Everstin

As the former Head of Innovation for Sabre EMEA, he has become a seasoned speaker and panelist on topics related to innovation in travel, tech trends and wearable devices. He frequently captivates audiences and drives discussion at some of the world’s most important technology and travel events, such as World Travel Market, Arabian Travel Market, Travel Tech Europe, Russian Internet Forum, ITB, IFTM and Fitur-Spain.

A developer by background, Joakim has more than 20 years’ experience of working within the travel technology industry.  When he’s not out on the speaking circuit, his day job is investigating the technologies that could transform the way people use technology tomorrow, and then working out how these can be applied to different industries today.  Joakim has led several ground-breaking experiments at Sabre in areas such as geo-location mapping, beacons and wearables and has been instrumental in developing many new technologies for Sabre’s airline, hotel and travel agency customers. His job at Sabre also involves managing our relationships with travel tech start-ups and evaluating investments with technology vendors. Joakim is closely engaged with start-ups from the Travel Tech Lab in London.

Prior to joining Snowfall and Sabre, Joakim founded and managed a successful company in Sweden, which provided Multi Variate Testing (MVT) and web analytics to help e-commerce companies optimize their e-commerce funnels. 

Before this, he worked at Scandinavian Airlines in the e-commerce department, responsible for front-end optimization of their platforms. 

He has also been the co-architect of two corporate booking tools and worked as a hands-on developer on online projects using open source technologies such as PHP, MySQL and Javascript/jQuery.
